After 49 years in the wilderness, Kwara United of Ilorin have qualified for the final of this year’s President Federation Cup at the expense of Rangers International FC of Enugu.
Wasiu Alalade scored the only goal of the match to help Kwara United triumph over Rangers International to reach this year’s FA Cup final.
The harmony boys’ triumph over Enugu Rangers, marked an historic victory for Kwara State.
Kwara United sets the stage for a final showdown against Abakaliki FC who despatched Ikorodu City 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw.
While in the second semi-finals giant killers, Abakaliki FC also did the impossible by beating Ikorodu City FC 5-4 in a penalty shootout also.
Both teams will now square up against each other in the oldest trophy in the country for a place in the CAF Confederation Cup contest.
