Players leave Edo Queens in droves over Betsy Obaseki’s Tournament fallout

In recent times players of the Edo Queens have been leaving the team in droves for ‘greener pastures’. 

Information reaching Popular News is that the players are opting for this step on account of they been shortchanged by officials of the Edo State Sports Commission. 

According to credible sources the young girls were forced into adopting the option of leaving the club as they’re going through hard times despite that they have performed creditably well in positioning the club in the highest echelon of female football in the country.

“The hardworking girls and their handlers should by now be swimming in megabucks as they emerged winners of the annual Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament in 2023 which they were entitled to the N7million prize money that the winners were promised only for the evil officials of the Edo State Sports Commission to deny the girls the money after it had been approved for payment by the state government. 

“The girls as we speak now have made a decision to cast their lots with neighbouring football clubs in the light of this unbecoming action of the state sports commission officials.
