As parts of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR), the management of Phinaco Resources, a wholesale and retail organization in building materials in Benin City, has contracted a bulldozer to grade earth roads within its environment.

The bulldozer driver, who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed to our reporter who also live in the neighborhood that it was the Managing Director of Phinaco Resources, Mr. Efosa Omoregbee, that paid for the grading work.

When a call was put across to Mr. Omoregbee by this reporter who doubles as Secretary of the community development association where the roads were being graded to ascertain if he was actually the person responsible for the grading,  he replied thus, “by the grace of God, we are responsible. Its a necessity that those roads should be graded before  raining season begins.

“We are aware that the incessant use of those roads by our heavy trucks contributed largely to the dilapidated state of the roads. So, to ensure the roads are passable during raining season, it is normal that we take the bull by the horn to do what we are doing now.”

When contacted, the residents led by the Odionwe (oldest man) in the area thronged Phinaco Resources administrative building to thank and pray for Mr. Omoregbee and his staff for what they described as uncommon gesture.

The Odionwe, Pa. Lucky Igninovia, in his word said, “we are happy for this development because it will ease both pedestrians and vehicular movements. Our own is to thank the Managing Director of Phinaco Resources for this great gesture to our people. We pray God to protect him, his family, staff and his business  in Jesus name, amen.”

Mr Omoregbee explained that he has mandated the bulldozer driver to ensure the grading is smooth to avoid gathering of erosion water on the road during raining season.
