Director of Mobilisation and Contact of the Labour Party(LP) in Diaspora, Chief Patrick Eholor, has scored the party’s flagbearer in the last Presidential election, Peter Obi, low for his seeming show of lack of interest in addressing the crisis rocking the party leadership.
In a chat, Eholor said that “Peter Obi has his own tricks on his sleeves that’s why he is afraid to either condemn(Julius) Abure, LP national Chairman, or resolve the matter because of his ambition of 2027. I say that categorically without apologies.”
According to Eholor, “Labour Party (LP) has its own perculiar problem. Its problem has to do with the leadership. The likes of Peter Obi got the party ticket on a platter of gold. If you can’t fix your political party and you continue to sleep with Abure on the same bed with all the allegations within and outside your party how can we now trust you that you will be able the affairs of Nigeria. If you can’t trust a messenger how do you now trust his message.
“I sacrificed a lot for Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti. I know my contribution financially and emotionally. I also know the risk that I have taken so far to ensure that Peter Obi becomes the President of this country. Unfortunately, we were rigged out by Mahmood Yakubu, who’s the INEC Chairman and the Judiciary.”
On his assessment of President Tinubu’s almost one year in office, Eholor stated: “I will give President Tinubu a score of 3 out of 10 which is not a pass mark. Tinubu and Shettima don’t know what’s priority. As a leader of a nation of over 200 million people you would have known that Education is the right of a nation.
“How will any responsible government budget N90billion for some people to go and do religious ritual in Mecca while giving students who are the light of the nation N5billion grant. You finance religion with N90billion and neglect the hospital, infrastructure, electricity and educational sector. It means the government of President Tinubu has failed.”
Talking about Barrister Olumide Akpata, the LP flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship poll in Edo State, Eholor stressed: “Those who have in the years past been financing the Labour Party in Edo State, have not done 1 percent of what Akpata is doing today. His friends all over the world are assisting him with funds to build the LP.
“He has given the party a new secretariat and has proposed to build a new office complex for the party. Akpata has never been associated with the APC(All Progressives Congress) and the PDP (People’s Democratic Party) so he is a fresh person in politics.”
Eholor rounding up asserted that he has never contested for any elective position as he is a kingmaker who would rather prefer to start through the ranks by contesting for councillorship position.
