Senator Ned Nwoko, who is representing Delta North Senatorial District, has given hint that President Bola Tinubu is in support of the creation of Anioma State.
He gave the hint at a gathering of All Progressives Congress(APC) stalwarts from the nine local government areas that make up Delta North Senatorial District in his Mount Ned Nwoko Resort in Idumuje Ugboko, Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Hon. Nicholas Ossai, a former member of the House of Representatives, had moved a motion of a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and Senator Ned Nwoko, which was seconded by a APC stalwart, Chief Felix Ndukwe.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Nwoko espoused the virtues of the Tinubu administration, emphasizing its commitment to social justice and good governance.
He urged continued support for the government, stressing that cooperation and collaboration were essential for progress. The senator reaffirmed his dedication to the creation of Anioma State, expressing optimism that this long-standing quest would soon become a reality.
According to him, “Anioma State is not merely a possibility; it is an inevitability. The people of Delta North desire it, the majority of states across Nigeria are poised to support it, and we have the goodwill of the President. The Senate public hearing on the bill for the creation of Anioma State will be a milestone in our journey towards realizing this dream.”
The senator’s words were echoed by various speakers, including the Delta North APC Chairman, Chief Eluaka Adizue, and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei. They emphasized the importance of party unity, love, and oneness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering was graced by dignitaries such as Hon. Nzozi Okolie, member of the House of Representatives; Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) and Chief Emmanuel Eboh, among others.
