Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, has stated that none of the presidential flagbearers of the other political parties can boast of a record as impeccable as that of LP’s Peter Obi.

“If you say that Peter Gregory Obi doesn’t have what it takes to become the President of Nigeria having served as governor of Anambra State meritoriously then you have something else coming.

“We in the Labour Party do not see any other party’s candidate that can measure up to Peter Obi in turning around for the better the fortunes of Nigeria. His credentials are there for everyone to assess.

“In the campaign that will soon commence Labour Party will have less to say to the people. As at this moment the government provided by these other political parties are no longer functioning to the satisfaction of the people. For instance the security architecture of the country has failed abysmally.”

On claims that the LP lacks political structure to contest the 2023 general elections and win Comrade Ogbaloi said, “I will explain that the LP indeed has a vast structure that can be of value when the chips are down in the 2023 general elections. The Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) is in LP. The Trade Union Congress(TUC) is in LP. When you take these two together you cannot but agree that the LP has structure.

“The structure that we have are the workers. The structure are the general society who are in the economic sector. The totality of the people of Nigeria make up the structure of LP.”
