The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Edo State Caretaker Committee has sent congratulatory messages to the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2024 polls, Barrister Asue Ighodalo, and Marvellous Omobayo, who was installed Deputy Governor of the state by then Governor Godwin Obaseki to replace Comrade Philip Shaibu who was impeached in controversial circumstances.
Chris Nehikhare, the Publicity Secretary of the Committee, in the message he sent to Ighodalo on behalf of the party said: “We extend our heartfelt birthday wishes to a man of uncommon intellect, character, and capacity — Barrister Asue Ighodalo, our gubernatorial candidate and the people’s choice in the last governorship election.
“Today, we celebrate not just the birth of a man, but the emergence of a symbol of hope, integrity, and excellence in public service. You are fondly called “The Man Wey Sabi” not by chance, but because you embody competence, vision, and purpose.”
PDP stressed: “Though the mandate freely given to you by the good people of Edo State was brazenly snatched, the truth remains etched in the hearts of our citizens — you won, and history will vindicate you.
“As you mark another year, may you find strength, grace, and renewed courage to continue to stand firm for justice, democracy, and the collective will of our people. We are proud of you, we stand with you, and we believe in the brighter tomorrow you represent.”
In the message to Omobayo, PDP stated: “We extend our warmest birthday wishes to a young leader of rare courage, unwavering loyalty, and deep commitment to the ideals of service, Omobayo Marvellous Godwins, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State.
“Today, we celebrate a trailblazer whose humility, brilliance, and devotion to the good people of Edo State continue to inspire a new generation of purposeful leadership.
“As you mark this special day, we pray for continued strength, wisdom, and boldness to navigate the path of transformational leadership.”
