Pastor Charles Osazuwa organises table tennis tourney in Benin

The first edition of the Pastor Charles Osazuwa Table Tennis Tournament 2020 has commenced at the indoor sports hall of the ultra-modern Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The three days closed tournament which commenced on Monday, December 28th and ends on Wednesday, December 30th has some celebrities and kid prodigies on the list of contestants.

Speaking about the tournament, Pastor Osazuwa, who is the General Overseer of Rock of Ages Christian Assembly (RACA), said he decided to organise it so as to contribute his quota towards empowering and developing the youths of the state especially in the area of sports.

Also speaking Valentine Asuen, a business tycoon and owner of DVD Oil, gave kudos to Pastor Osazuwa for the initiative as it will keep the youths busy and keep them out of mischief and crime.

He appealed to other well to do personalities in the state to contribute their quota in this respect while also praising the efforts of Governor Godwin Obaseki in ensuring that there is an enabling environment for such initiatives to thrive.

Chief Coach Francis Sule(aka Franco Nero) thanked the organiser, Pastor Osazuwa for his contribution towards making the game of Table Tennis more popular in the state, adding that the tournament will be used to scout for fresh talents who will fly the banner of the state high in the future.

The winner of the tournament will be taking home a whopping sum of N250,000(two hundred and fifty thousand naira) which is rated as one of the highest cash prizes in the history of the game in Nigeria.
