As the clock ticks in readiness for the primaries to pick the All Progressives Congress(APC) flagbearer for the 2026 Chairmanship election of Owan West Local Government of Edo State all eyes are on Okhiku Esezobor Heman as the best man for the job.
Stakeholders are saying that come November 10, 2025, when the primaries is slated to hold there won’t be any room for error as their choice would be Heman who has what it takes to take the council to the peak in terms of giving to the people the dividends of democracy which they all crave for.
Some influential members of the Owan West Youth Forum and Grassroot Mobilizers have thrown their hat in the ring for Heman whom they describe as the modern day Moses who will lead the constituents to the acclaimed land of milk and honey.
“Our humble, decent, tested and trusted son, Okhiku Esezobor this time deserves our utmost support, nomination and adoption as our candidate.
“His loyalty is unwavering with sound track record of serial aspiration for almost 20 years in the same political party(AC down to APC) without securing the party’s nomination, compensation and any good form of political appointment,” they stated.
He was described as a dedicated, over committed, over consistent core party loyalist with a progressive mindset and a fervent grassroot man who has served the party consistently as two times Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Publicity Secretary.
Vouching for Heman, they asserted that “the right time is now for him to be nominated as Owan West Council Chairman and we so much believe in him because he will deliver democratically, socially and economically.”
The Edo State Local Government elections slated for July 11, 2026, will be conducted by the state Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC).
