Former National President of the Ijaw Youth Council(IYC), Dr. Chris Ekiyor and the Senator representing Delta South in the red chambers of the National Assembly, Joel Onowakpo, have agreed to synergize on the way forward for the senatorial district. Their action plan came about at a meeting they had recently when the former paid a visit to the latter.

Hinging their discussion on the future trajectory of Delta South, the duo exchanged views on harnessing local resources and empowering indigenous initiatives for sustainable progress.

Dr. Ekiyor, while congratulating Senator Onowakpo on his recent appointment as the Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content, said that the new role is a strategic milestone for the region, promising to foster increased local participation in economic activities and to drive policy reforms that bolster indigenous businesses. He lauded the Senator’s visionary leadership, acknowledging his giant achievement and his steadfast commitment to the welfare of his constituence.
