Hon. Sylvanus Igbogbo, a former Chairman of Igueben Local Government Council in Edo State, has poured encomium on Governor Monday Okpebholo on the occasion of his one year anniversary in office(November 12).
The All Progressives Congress (APC) described the Governor as an achiever who has performed tremendously within his short period thus far in office asserting that he has the capacity to do even more.
Congratulating Governor Okpebholo on his milestone achievements in his one year in office as Governor, Hon. Igbogbo stressed that he is the only person that can surpass his good deeds.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo has done very well within the one year period that he assumed office. I know that he’s going to do much better as the years roll bye. He is a man that has a listening ear. He will not disappoint us.
“Thus far he has been appointing people who are capable into his cabinet. These are people who have what it takes to make him meet the people’s needs or aspirations.
“Needless, to appeal to the people of Edo State to stand with him as he navigates the pathway to good governance and making the people happy.”
Going further, Igbogbo asserted: “He came in hitting the ground running with legacy projects like the construction of two flyovers at Ramat Park and Sapele Road(two prominent locations in Benin City). There’s also the yeoman efforts he has put in the education sector with the complete refurbishment and renovation of scores of erstwhile dilapidated schools across the state.
“Look at the federal road in Ekpoma. It’s being done well through his effort. The roads that he’s doing he’s putting concrete which will make them stand for many years. I commend his efforts and pray that God will enable him to achieve more than what others before him achieved.”
On Governor Okpebholo’s boast to garner over 3 million votes from Edo State for President Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential poll, Igbogbo affirmed: “It’s a simple thing. It’s possible. We’re talking of politics. We’re doing our outreach, talking to Edolites to key into the voters registration, telling them what they stand to benefit by so doing.”
On Governor Okpebholo’s recent milestone achievement of employing some 5,000 teachers into the state civil service, Igbogbo described the action as a huge empowerment programme that will cascade into making at least 50,000 people get lifted up from the shackles of poverty.
