Obaseki’s aide gives red card to social media rats

Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media Projects, Pastor Crusoe Osagie, has promised to partner with members of the state Online Media Practitioners (OMP) in ensuring that journalism ethics are well established while reporting activities in the state via the online media.

He made the promise when he received in audience the executives of the OMP led by its Chairman, Otunba Mike Aladenika in the State Government House in Benin City.

Pastor Osagie hammered on the need to ensure that the ethics of the journalism profession are adhered to in the course of the members of the OMP carrying out their assignments.

He praised their resolve to give the journalism profession the huge accolades it deserves by operating in line with its laid down rules and regulation. He advised that the practitioners should take the bull by the horn by dictating the pace and thus not allowing impostors to have a free reign in the profession.

Earlier, Otunba Aladenika, who is also a former Chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), had intimated Pastor Osagie of the activities of the OMP and its promise to checkmate the activities of social media rats who parade the media space freely.
