The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRC), Benin branch, has nominated and recognised Mrs. Pat Agetua, founder of a non-governmental organization, Second Chance for Disadvantaged Women and Girls, with an award of recognition for her outstanding meritorious humanitarian services.
In a letter conveying the good news to Mrs. Agetua, who is also a senior member of the NRC, the Secretary of the branch, Wilson Ekhomogiazin, disclosed that “in the branch executive committee meeting held on Friday, 5th April, 2024, the branch executive unanimously resolved to honour members who have meritoriously served the society in two categories: 30 and 50 years and above.
“In consideration of members within these categories, you were recognized and nominated to be honoured for serving the society meritoriously for more than 30 years.”
The award/honour ceremony comes up during the commemoration of this year’s World Red Cross Day celebration on Tuesday, 8th May at the branch Secretariat by 12noon.
An elated Mrs. Agetua, in response to the honour and recognition she has been nominated for, said it can only push her to do much more.
