The Interim Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme(PAP), Maj-Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu, has vowed to uphold the virtue of integrity, transparency and accountability as he oversees the affairs of the PAP.

He pledged that no amount of threat to his life and family will cow his resolve to remain resolute and not depart from the path of honour and dignity despite concerted efforts to pull him down by agents of mischief.

The astute General, whose unblemished records of service at United Nations peace keeping efforts in Liberia and Angola cannot be assailed, made this known at the Palace of Abobo the 111 in Odoni Kingdom where he was received by King Pere Albert and the Council of Chiefs and citizens of the Kingdom at a modest ceremony.

As a true son of Odoni Kingdom, he noted that he would stand by the truth at all times irrespective of whose ox is gored, adding that he would not involve himself in acts that may tarnish his treasured name and at the same time bring disrepute to the Kingdom.

He said, he is committed to transforming the lives of the youths of the Kingdom with empowerment schemes at the appropriate time. He also used the occasion to sympathise with the people for the devastating flood that almost submerged the community last month.

Ndiomu promised to send more paliatives to the people in due course as part of his contribution to cushion the effects of the flood. King Pere Albert in his remarks expressed his appreciation to God for this great opportunity given to the son of the soil to serve the entire Niger Delta region.

He said, “we are proud of your achievements in the service of your fatherland and we assure you that we are standing by you. We will continually pray that the good Lord will uphold you and see through all difficult seasons and you shall return to give testimonies of his goodness and mercy.”

The King stated further that they were happy to hear that he was able to convince government to rescind its earlier directive to halt the Amnesty Programme.

He observed that stoppage of the programme would been a recipe for anarchy in the region. He thanked the General for providing relief materials to his kinsmen at the peak of the flood.

King Pere Albert however promised to host Ndiomu in a more elaborate ceremony at a future date when the entire people will be present to honour a true son of Odoni Kingdom.
