Lady Omorede Osifo, the Deputy National Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Special Adviser on Women Mobilisation (State) to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, has charged the Governor to keep doing his good deeds and don’t be distracted by enemies of progress.
She was reacting to the recent protest in Ekpoma by miscreants masquerading as students which resulted in massive destructions and looting.
“It’s obvious that all these things happening in Ekpoma and environs are sponsored by enemies of progress. These enemies are not happy with the good work that our Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo is doing in Edo State.
“They are looking for all avenues to say yes, the governor has failed in one area or the other. Unfortunately, for them, everybody know that the Governor is interested in the security of Edo people. And so whatever they have done and they have tried to start, everybody knows that it is not true.
“Why is it happening in the same place? Some people are sponsoring it. Wherever the sponsors are hiding themselves, they will be fished out. They are trying to ridicule our governor but It’s not going to work,” she stated.
Going further, she posited: “Our Governor, Monday Okpebholo, with his SHINE Agenda, has done so much for the state in a short time than they could ever have done in years.
“So they should stop playing these games and they should not be playing with the lives of our people, our mothers, our children and the rest just because they are trying to prove a point. They should stop it and let peace prevail and let the governor continue the good work that he’s doing. They should not try to disturb him.
“They should let him stay on course and stop looking for distractions and sponsoring all these miscreants to do what is going on in that area. Very soon, everything will come out. The truth about who is sponsoring them and those responsible is going to come out. They’re going to be exposed and everybody will know who those people are that are sponsoring all these nonsense going on in Edo State. The state is a peaceful state.
“It has been a peaceful state since our Governor took over. We can see that for the first time we had a good Christmas and new year activities in the state. In the past, when the previous government was there, it wasn’t like this.”
She advised that the performing governor of Edo State should stay focused on the good job of governance that he has been doing.
