On Tuesday, June 13, Edo State Government House situated at Osadebey Avenue axis of GRA Benin City, was a beehive of activities as the who-is-who in Edo State and even beyond congregated there to witness the swearing-in of the first batch of 15 new commissioners in the state by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

This batch of newly sworn-in exco members is a mix of old and new faces in the Godwin Obaseki cabinet. Some were key members of the previously dissolved cabinet.

Kingsley Uwagbale, one of the new faces, is of royal lineage in Uromi, headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area. He is expected to bring his vast wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his duties in the Obaseki administration.

He is a seasoned administrator, business executive and organizational leader with over 30 years of global management experience spanning aviation, maritime, logistics and emergency services.

Previously, he served as the Managing Director(MD) of Avantgarde Management Services Limited (the technical partners to Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA) and Managing Director of Fortune Global Shipping Ltd.

Additionally, he was as an Executive Director at Caverton Helicopters until 2016 and served as Chief
Operating Officer(COO) at Vigeo Farstad Shipping Ltd between 2005 and 2008 after his earlier career strides at Intels Nigerian Limited.

He is a Fellow of Institute of Corporate Administration and Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, a certified Multi-Agency Gold Incident Commander (MAGIC) from the College of Policing (UK), a member of International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), and a DNV Certified Auditor.

Mr. Uwagbale has attended several prestigious leadership and executive courses from institutions including
Harvard Business School, Cambridge University, Negotiation Academy Midrand, South Africa etc. He has an MBA from the University of Port Harcourt(Uniport), and graduated with a first degree from the University of Benin(Uniben).
