Keep Oba of Benin out of N30billion Storm Water Project argument, group warns politicians

Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) worldwide is bemused by the recent open letter about the N30 billion Storm Water Project that the former Edo State Commissioner for Environment now Minister of State for Budget and Planning, Prince Clem Agba wrote to Governor Godwin Obaseki whom he referred to as his in-law.

Ordinarily, Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) should not show interest such diatribe between two former high ranking officials in the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole administration.

However, the mention of the name of the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare 11 in some parts of the letter act as an alert bell for the BSM to wade in and ward off the politicians resort to using his name to gain undue sympathy or advantage in the course of their argument.

Let it be known to the feuding politicians that the issue of the mismanaged N30 billion Storm Water Project should in no way be made to seem His Royal Majesty has a pecuniary interest in it.

Also, Prince Clem Agba, who has a royal blood should know that royalty should never be dragged into the murky waters of politics the way he is trying to do.

Needless to say, that the monarch, who is very much interested in good governance, would never meddle in such a course of action meant to address a burning issue.

Signed

President,
