Just In: UBA is holding on to my money without my consent – Businessman cries out

Festus Omokhudu Ikhumetse, a Benin based businessman, is in a dilemma of what will be the outcome of his problem with the management of the United Bank of Africa(UBA), is going to end even as they hold on to his money. He operates a savings account 2005925555 with the UBA.

According to Festus, his problem with the management of UBA started almost eight months ago when he drove into the NNPC Mega Filling Station situated close to the headquarters of the Edo State Police Command in Benin to fuel his car.

“One blessed afternoon, I drove into the Mega Filling Station situated on Sapele Road, Benin, to fuel my car. I paid N12,100 through Moniepoint POS for which UBA debited me though the POS machine declined. A few days later I returned to the filling station to again fuel my car. This time I paid N12,050 through the same Moniepoint POS for which UBA again debited me though the POS again declined.

“I took my complaint to the UBA branch situated at Sakponba Road by Igun Street Junction. I was directed to go and confirm the status of the transaction at Moniepoint which I did and for which I was told that the money is in UBA possession.

“Moniepoint printed the transaction ID for me which l presented to the UBA. At the UBA email messages have been continuously sent to their head office to no avail. Till date my money which sum total is N24,150 is still not refunded to me by the UBA management.

“Just recently, I met the Cash Officer(CO) of the UBA Sakponba Road branch who confided in me that the branch has tried its best as regards my case, that it is left for the head office to do the needful.”
