A housewife, Mrs. Senorita Otasowie Inegbedion, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, mentioning the names of some high networth individuals in the sudden disappearance since August 6, 2024, of her husband, Destiny Yinusa Inegbedion, from an oil platform operated by Sigmund Oil Field Limited owned by Chris Uba.

According to Mrs. Inegbedion her husband, Destiny, an offshore cook, suddenly went missing on August 6, 2024, while working on the Sigmund Oil Platform.

The mother of two toddlers disclosed that she initially raised concerns after losing contact with Destiny as they last spoke on August 5, when he complained about work-related issues adding that attempts to reach him afterward failed with her messages via WhatsApp not been delivered.

According to the petition, Mr. Inegbedion, employed under Prestige Hotel Limited, had returned to work on July 28 after a scheduled break. His last known location was the offshore facility in Rivers State.

On August 6, his colleagues noticed he was missing. His phone and wallet were found in his room, but he was nowhere to be found. To compound the issue security cameras at the facility were reportedly not working and the company’s security boat was also out of service as at the time of the mysterious disappearance of Destiny Inegbedion.

Alarmed at the strange occurrence Mrs. Inegbedion reported the case to the police in Benin City, but they directed her to authorities in Port Harcourt. The matter was later reported to a police station near the Port Harcourt Airport.

Mrs. Inegbedion’s was aghast when her missing husband’s co-worker, one Lekie Dornubari, later contacted her, asking for her husband’s phone password.

More shocking to the woman was Dornubari’s claim during a virtual meeting with the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission (NURC), that he wanted to check for clues about Destiny Inegbedion’s whereabouts.

Apart from Chris Uba of Sigmund Oil Field another high networth personality that was mentioned prominently in the petition was Mr. Felix Edosomwan, CEO of Prestige Hotel Limited. One other person mentioned in the petition is one Ikhine (also called “Camp Boss”) and then Dornubari.

Mrs Inegbedion is demanding for a full police investigation to uncover what happened to her husband. She seeks justice and answers regarding his mysterious disappearance as she battles to take care of her two toddlers.
