Popular News gathered that the hardworking and affable police officer was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH) situated in Ugbowo, a suburb of the Benin metropolis, on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 from his office situated at Adesuwa Grammar School Road, GRA, Benin City when his health situation took a dive.

Credible sources told Popular News that “we were all praying fervently and expecting that he will soon be discharged and allowed to go home after he must have fully recovered from the health issue only to hear this morning (Sunday, February 12th, 2023) that he had given up the ghost.

“His passage will no doubt come as a shock to many people considering that before now he had no noticeable health challenge.”

Breaking the sad news on a Police WhatsApp platform in Benin City, SP Bello Kontongs, a former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Edo State Police Command wrote: “Innalillahi Wa’innailaihi Rajeuun, We lost AIG Jimeta to cold hand of death.”
