Just In: Fragments of information about the new acting Police boss

1. Kayode Egbetokun would be a year older on 4th of September

2. Egbetokun was born in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State

3. He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on the 3rd of March, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

4. He had his initial training at the Nigeria Police Academy.

5. Before joining the Police Force, he was a Mathematics lecturer at the Yaba College of Technology(Yabatech), Lagos.

6. In 1999, he was appointed Chief Security Officer(CSO) to the then Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

7. The Newly appointed Acting IGP, was a former Rapid Response Squad(RRS) Commander in Lagos State from 2005 – 2007.

8. He was Lagos State Commissioner of Police in 2019.

9. Until now Egbetokun was in charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Force Headquarters, Abuja.

10. He has in the course of his career as a policeman transversed the length and breadth of the country.
