The technical session on diaspora matters with the HOS had inputs from the Chief Executive Officer of the Diaspora Innovation Institute, Prince Akinwale Ojomo and the Director General, Ondo State, Public Service Technical Institute (PSTI), Mr Ekpo Jide.

Ocansey, a member of the AU commiittee from Ghana, is an international labour expert with over 30 years experience with links to Disapora decent jobs, with approval of the Sierra Leonean government is presently training thousands of the youths in the country ready to be offered jobs abroad.

According to Ajibola, the decent job offer was readily available to bridge the gap of unemployment for youths in the state who would be interested in care giver service, housekeeping and others.

However he was quick to state that the process would be done in compliance with the labour laws in Nigeria.

“As an indigine of this state, I am challenged to make the over 20,000 overseas decent jobs possible through Ocansey with an  effective structure in line with the laws,” Ajibola said.

Ojomo commended the state for setting up the PSTI at Ilaramokin saying the facility at the institute was good enough to host the world.

He said the state was already at the vintage position to benefit from the over $25 billion annual remittances from the diaspora with more investments in human capacity development.

Adeyemo said Ondo State government was ready to support the SDG inniative to develop the economy after thorough deliberation. The PSTI boss, Jide, while speaking, said the institute was working to drive investment to the state through capacity building.

He added that with the high level facility at the PSTI, all the courses at the institute would be fully accredited by the National Board of Technical Education. Jide said a pre-proposal for summit before the HOD when considered would be implemented to generate more revenues for the state.
