Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) in Edo State has charged the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to confront the alarming issue of insecurity in the state.
The Coalition Chairman, Samson Isibor, made the charge on Friday morning in the course of its award ceremony held in Benin City.
While congratulating the Governor for his many achievements in one year in office especially projects like the Murtala Mohammed overhead Bridge; the overhead bridge at Adesuwa Road Junction on Sapele Road and the reactivation of the dysfunction Edo Line the Coalition inferred that “Edo people cannot sleep with their two eyes closed again, the bandits, Fulani herdsmen and terrorists have taken over our bushes, highways and farms.
“They have choked us to the extent of chasing us into our homes to pick us like fowls. That’s why we are shouting Governor Okpebholo should come to our rescue to fulfill his electioneering promises to deliver us from the hands of bandits/herdsmen because the bandits have impoverished us through unbearable levies.”
Highlight of the programme was the award of certificate of recognition and plaques to ten individuals on account of their achievement in various endeavours of life.
