National Chairman of Labour Party(LP), Mr. Julius Abure, has said he remains the authentic National Chairman of the party till his tenure ends.

He stated this during an interview with journalists in Benin City.

Mr. Abure said that the factional self acclaimed national chairman is just playing the script of a particular political party that is determined to destroy the Labour Party due to selfish gains.

Mr. Abure said the court has not heard the case proper and he still awaits the originating summons of the court to hear the case as such one Lamidi Apapa cannot claim to be the national chairman of Labour Party.

He explained that the party is challenging the competence of the court to hear the case in the first place and called for the right thing to be done as regard the issue before the party.

Earlier, a chieftain of the party and a right activist, Chief Patrick Eholor, called on the judiciary to speed up the presidential cases before May 29 for the dispensation of justice and build confidence on the people .

Chief Eholor said the Labour Party has enough evidence to prove their claim before the court to determine the case within two weeks before the main inauguration since there cannot be vacuum in government.

He admonished the judiciary to desist from miscarriage of justice and prove the popular saying that the judiciary is the last hope of the common of man.

Chief Eholor expressed confidence that even if there is swearing-in before determination of the case, the Labour Party may still win and take back its mandate.

He explained that the President elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has not meet up with the requirements to be declared winner of the February 25 presidential election because he didn’t win 25 percent of FCT among others.
