Thrilled by the superlative performance of players of Bendel Insurance Football Club in their hard-fought 3–2 victory over Kano Pillars FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) on Saturday evening, the Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Desmond Enabulele, has commended the Benin Arsenals for the remarkable performance.
The Sports Commission boss who was speaking after the Match Day 13 encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, said that he was excited that the team has been able to put smiles on the faces of management and fans after struggling for so long with many disappointing results at home and away.
”I am so excited today about the victory after struggling for so long without getting desired results. I congratulate the team.
”You could see that in the first half we tried very well and scored first but we lost control of the game to the visitors as they equalized and went in front of us before halftime. I thank God we were able to turn things around and got the equalizer as well as the winner came two minutes before the 90 minutes of regulation period.
”We are going to capitalize and build on this victory and start winning. We want to assure our fans that arrangements are being made to fortify the team during the mid season transfer window,” he revealed.
Enabulele expressed satisfaction with the team’s determination and their strong character during the game
”I am so excited today for the victory and hope that we continue like this,” he said.
