Chairman of Bayelsa United FC, Mr.Braveman Wodi, has expressed appreciation to the organizers of the second edition of Governor Nyesom Wike Pre-Season Football Tournament in view of the exposure his players have gathered from the outing.
Braveman Wodi, who is also the Director of Sports, Bayelsa State, said he was shocked by the progress his wards made by getting into the finals against Rivers United FC a team billed for continental engagement.
In a gruelling encounter Bayelsa United lost the final to Rivers Utd via a penalty shoot out, after a pulsating 1-1 draw.
Theophilus Afelokhai of Rivers Utd scored the last kick in the penalty shoot out to give his team a 5 – 4 victory.
The tournament, which started on the 6th November, 2020, took place at the Sharks FC Stadium, Port Harcourt.
