House of reps leader urge women not to relent in contributing quota to growth, development

Professor Julius Ihonvbere, the Leader of the House of Representatives, has urged women “not to relent in contributing your quota to the growth and development of our land for the overall good of all.”

The Iseghede of Owanland made the statement in his message to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day.

Emphasizing the principal roles women have continued to play in engendering a free society, and shaping a greater Nigerian nation, he also used the medium to restate his commitment to continue prioritizing women-related empowerment initiatives in his schedule of constituency projects and interventions.

“I am indeed very delighted to join you in the 2026 celebration of the International Women’s Day, a day set aside to acknowledge the value and importance of women.

“With particular reference to the resilient and diligent women in Owan Federal Constituency, I am using this auspicious occasion to reiterate my commitment to sustain the various empowerment initiatives for women and youths, all of which are geared towards improving the socio-economic wellbeing of Owan women and the advancement of our federal constituency,” Professor Ihonvbere posited.
