“Home For The Needy” was established in 1992 out of love and passion for the needy in the society. Today we render shelter to thousands of people from all over Nigeria. Most of them are children and widows from the Northeast of Nigeria where Boko Haram has been killing thousands of people and destroying entire towns and villages.

Countless people are still seeking refuge. Our aim is to give them a new future – in this we need your support.

Get to know more about the help “Home For The Needy” renders, and become part of this great work!

WHAT WE DO

We offer shelter, education, skill and technical training, health care, sports, rehabilitation as well as help in re-integration.

SHELTER

At “Home For The Needy“, the needy and suffering find a home where they receive accommodation, food, clothes and other basic needs as well as parental care.

EDUCATION

At our own school “Christlike Schools“ which includes nursery, primary and secondary school, we provide high quality education. We also offer special classes for all those who never had the opportunity to receive good education.

After graduation we enable our students to study at university or to do a vocational training.

SKILL AND TECHNICAL TRAINING

It is our goal to train people handicrafts and technical skills such as tailoring, carpentry, computer, agriculture and live stock farming, catering; making of soap, sanitizer, perfume etc.

HEALTH CARE

We render health care such as regular check-ups, medical treatment and vaccinations.

SPORTS

Sports activities like football, volleyball, handball, table tennis, basketball etc. play an important role. We regularly have sports days and athletic contests.

REHABILITATION

Apart from that, we render mental, spiritual, moral and social support – especially to those who have been abused or became victims of violence in one way or the other. We offer counselling in order to help overcome severe trauma. It is our greatest joy to see how the traumatised children and adults are being restored at “Home For The Needy“ and how they recover from the terrible experiences of their past!

RE-INTEGRATION

It is our endeavour for people who come to us from great suffering to be re-intregrated into the society. Since our inception we have been able to raise numerous lawyers, accountants and graduates of various degrees. We want to make this possible for even more people. For this we need support, for instance in order to pay tuition fees. Besides education we emphasize on imparting moral values, good manners as well as hygiene education.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

There are many ways to support our work: by periodical or single donations, through child- and student sponsorships, and by assistance interventions on site.
