Community demands Justice over murder of its youth leader, others

A youth based platform in Benin City, Edo State – Edo Youth Vanguard(EYV) – has asked the general public to discountenance what they tagged the false allegation of indictment of one SP Godspower Osagie, a police officer serving in the state police command, in a petition by the Odionwere and elders of Oko-Oroma Community in Oredo Local Government Area.

In the EYV statement signed by its Co-ordinator, Isioma Osaro the group stated thus: “The Edo Youth Vanguard has seen what appears to be a sponsored news report making unfounded reports that SP Godspower Osagie has been indicted by a petition.

“We need to state that what is pending before the police authorities is a petition, which being investigated. Our preliminary findings indicates that the allegations against SP Godspower Osagie is not tenable.

“That SP Godspower Osagie has been a thorn in the flesh of criminal elements in Edo State and we will not be surprised of the campaign of calumny against him.”

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the state police command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, was quoted as denying the allegation against SP Osagie absolving him of any wrong doing and calling on members of the public to discountenance the petition.
