A Political group by the name South-South People’s Agenda, (SSPA) clamoring for the emergence of Senator Oserheimen Osunbor as the next National Chairman of All Progressives Congress(APC) in the next special convention of the party coming up soon, has again advised the party’s leadership to put measures in place to reposition the party for subsequent elections victories in order to sustain and justify the commitment of President Mohammadu Buhari for equity and natural justice to the party.
The group said that the only way this can happen is when the ideal, acceptable and unblemished character is allowed to emerge as the National Chairman of the party so as to prepare the party and its organs to win the confidence of the people. Making this known to the press after rising from state wide consultative meeting on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, in Bayelsa State was the Zonal Coordinator of the group, Hon. Murphy Braie.
He said that the time has come to identify with someone who has all it takes to manage the affairs of the ruling party and reposition it to an enviable position as truly the ruling party that is not in a hurry to quit the stage of providing quality and robust leadership to Nigeria people by President Mohammadu Buhari.
Describing the events of the last three months in the life of the ruling party, (APC) Hon, Braei said, “the dissolution of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led National Working Committee by Mr. President after a wide consultation to save the party from disintegration has provided an opportunity for the leadership of the party to reposition it for an enviable position by identifying with someone like Senator Osunbor who is seen by many people as a unifying factor in the build up to true reconciliation efforts by the Caretaker/ Special Convention Committee headed by the hard working Governor of Yobe State.
The group further said that the emergence of Senator Osunbor as the National Chairman of the party will enable the South-South zone to serve out the remaining years of the last dissolved NWC of the party led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. He said that this will further restore huge confidence and promote party loyalty, emphasizing that anything short of this will amount to great disservice to the people of Edo Sate in particular and South-South in general.
The group said that apart from the fact that Senator Osunbor hails from Edo State like Adams Oshiomhole, it justifies Senator Osunbor’s chances coupled with his resume for leadership and his impeccable character over the years. He said that the group has commenced wide consultations across the zones emphasizing that plans are underway to reach out to APC governors on the need to sustain their unflinching loyalty to the party which has kept the party together.
He described the Caretaker/Special Convention Committee led by the Governor of Yobe State was as the best thing that has happened to the party emphasizing that the party has gained considerable stability aftermath of the dissolution of Adams Oshiomhole led National Workings Committee by Mr. President Mohammadu Buhari.
