United Nations Peace ambassador, Eghe Oyekoretin Igiozee, has declared that his non governmental organisation (NGO), Lion Izo Foundation, would use sports to raise stars.
He said that his organisation, which is concerned with humanitarian services, is expanding their scope by intervening in sports development.
Ambassador noted that one of the best means of removing the youths from the street is through sports, particularly football.
The United Nations Peace Ambassador disclosed that aside the two hundred dollars ($200) star prize attached to the gold cup for the winners of the tournament, some football scouts from various parts of the country and abroad are also on ground for talents hunt.
He expressed appreciation over the support they have so far received from passionate Edo people, including proprietor of Paragon Group of Schools, Mr Martins Osakue, whose facility is being used.
Meanwhile, some quarterfinalists have alreay emerged as Guobadia FC top Group A with nine points while Ine Stars followed with six points. In Group B, Raiders FC and Yak Sport FC scrapped through with five points apiece while results from Group C and D are being awaited as Dynamite FC and BJ Foundation are primed to scale through.
