Give us a free hand to select our representatives in councils, ex-agitator pleads with Edo PDP leaders

“We, the loyal members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the riverine communities of Edo State are appealing to the party’s leaders in the state to give us the golden opportunity of making a choice of who will represent us and administer our affairs in our local government areas.”

This was the plea of ‘General’ Pere Ejune, an ex-Niger Delta agitator while in a chat with Popular News on Wednesday.

According to him, “in this forthcoming local government election in both the issue of primary and endorsement, we the stakeholders of of the PDP in riverine communities are appealing to the governor and other leaders of the party in the state that they should allow us to decide who we want to vie for any elective position and even political appointments.”

Ejune, who is also a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor Godwin Obaseki, praised the governor for his impactful projects in the heartbeat state.

He is of the opinion that posterity will rate the governor high in all aspects of delivery of dividends of democracy especially as it concerns siting of legacy projects in all parts of the state. He also pleaded with the governor to site legacy projects in the riverine communities so that they could have a sense of belonging too.
