Edo State Government on Friday appointed a blogger, Friday Aghedo(aka Freeman), as the Press Secretary to the state deputy governor, Dennis Idahosa. The appointment takes effect from December 2nd 2024.
Aghedo served as Deputy Director, the New Media Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council, where he worked to ensure the victory of Governor Monday Okpbebholo. It is expected that Aghedo would bring on board a wealth of experience in media handling and leadership skills.
Aghedo will be at home with his principal, Idahosa, who he has been working with in the same capacity since 2019 that led to the deputy governor’s election into the House of Representatives till his emergence as the deputy governor of the state.
Prior to Idahosa Media assignment, Aghedo was Press Secretary to, Hon. Destiny Enabulele, the then Chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Area of the state.
Married with children, Aghedo holds a BSc [Ed] in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Benin (Uniben). He has numerous awards to his credit, including ASMIIN Blogger Of the year Award (2021) and others.
