FGC Kano plans big for 50th anniversary

Federal Government College(FGC) Kano Old Students Association has announced the commemoration of the College’s 50th anniversary to celebrate the school’s legacy of providing functional education to diverse students from all over the country and beyond.

FGC Kano 50th Anniversary he said: “The College’s golden anniversary officially begins on 24th January, 2023 and will conclude January 29, 2023.

“The 50th Anniversary is a prime opportunity to catapult the College into the next 50 years through continued focus on excellence and evolution of our strategic vision,” says Engr. Sulaiman Adamu, the National President of the Old Students Association and Minister of Water Resources.

“This is more than a celebration of our past, but also of our future contributions to our country’s development.”

The anniversary celebration shall begin on Tuesday, 24th January, 2023, with an Ebo/Welcome Party and will continue until 29th January, 2023, with a series of events such as courtesy calls, tree planting, commissioning of projects, career show, sporting activities, class hangouts, city tours which include visit to Janguza (where the school first started in 1973), lectures, Dinner/Gala Night among others.

These events will provide an opportunity for reunion between past teachers and old students. This momentous milestone marks half a century of providing pathways to success for many young Nigerians from diverse backgrounds. 

As we reflect on our history and look towards the future, we are confident we will continue to grow, adapt, and excel at helping our alumni reach their fullest potential while supporting our alma mater retain its glory as a centre of academic excellence.
