National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Julius Abure, has described the party’s standard bearer for Edo Central Senatorial District in the general elections next year, Christen Osereme Omofoma, as a man who has all it takes to change the narratives of the people by bringing dividends of democracy to their footsteps in no distant time if he gets the people’s mandate.

Barrister Abure vehemently denied being a placeholder for the NASS hopeful as was speculated in some quarters.

“I wasn’t a placeholder for him(Omofoma). I actually wanted to run for the senate but it became very clear to me that I can’t combine my senatorial ambition while campaigning for Peter Obi’s Presidency.

“In my usual way of making sacrifice for the movement (Obidient Movement) I believe that sacrifice is not too much to make for Nigerian. Nigerians this time around need my service. The Peter Obi Campaign is my service.

“The People of Nigeria need my participation at this time to lead this movement to victory. I have therefore sacrificed my senatorial ambition with that project.

“Like I said Christen is a man of dignity and integrity. A man that rose from the ranks and have attained where he is today. He was one time a lecturer. He has worked in this country. Today, he is doing very well.

“He has intellectual capacity. He has the experience and what it takes to change the narrative for the better for the people of Edo Central. I believe he would do it the way I would have done it. That is why I graciously decided to step down for him.”
