Exclusive: Edo State Govt gives oil marketers 72 hours ultimatum to sell at N190 per litre

Information reaching Popular News is that the Edo State Government has given oil marketers operating in the state a 72 hours ultimatum to sell their fuel at the stipulated pump price of N190 or in the worst case N200 per litre.

Insiders in the government circle said that the oil marketers were given the ultimatum so as to address the pains that the residents of the state have being going through in the last couple of days as a result of the exorbitant  rates that the fuel is sold for in major parts of the state.

It was further learnt from a credible source that the ultimatum came with a caveat that “those marketers who for one reason or the other cannot meet up with the ultimatum which falls on Monday, February 6th, 2023, should just pack up and leave.”

Going further, the source disclosed that the state government took the step after an extensive deliberation on the issue which also involved some stakeholders in the oil and gas sector and government agencies.
