Edo State Government has reiterated it’s commitment to the pursuance of its ‘One Litre For One Litre’ ultimatum it gave to owners of petrol filling stations to desist from under dispensing, hoarding, selling unadulterated fuel and other sharp practices.

In a statement signed by Hon. Enaholo Ojiefoh, Commissioner for Mining and Energy, he disclosed that “the Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Committee constituted by the state government will be going round petrol stations and gas plants to ascertain the level of compliance and to ensure proper distribution of the product.

“Edo State government has been working hand in hand with stakeholders in the Downstream sector to ensure the product is available in the state and will not stand by and watch this noble effort thwarted as government frowns at any act that will further heighten the sufferings of Edo people.”

Going further, he stated that “the state government sympathizes with the good people of the state over the hike in price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

“We use this opportunity to appreciate the general public for their cooperation and to also reaffirm the state government’s commitment to the general wellbeing of the people of Edo State.”
