Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has described late philantropist, Captain Wells Idahosa Okunbo(aka Captain Hosa), as a man who in his life time could be relied on in times of need as he always showed interest in been of help to anyone in need that he comes in contact with.
He was speaking on the occasion of the first memorial thanksgiving service of the late Captain Hosa Okunbo held inside his multimillion naira facility, Wells Hosa Greenhouse Farm situated on the Benin-Sapele byepass.
Chief Ibori recalled that his relationship with the deceased was as strong as if they were siblings from the same family. He gave instances when Captain Hosa stretched forth his hand of assistance not minding that the help he was rendering may cause him some inconveniences.
He appealed to the members of the deceased family to be united and endeavour to carry on doing good deeds just like their loved patriarch was doing. One after the other guests at the high octane event came up the podium to disclose how Captain Hosa had touched their lives positively by his act of giving.
In her speech, the first daughter of Captain Okunbo, who is the Olori Atuwatse of Warri, assured the guests that the family will forever cherish the good name that her late dad bequeathed to them.
Responding to questions in a chat, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the member representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, said: “If we want to talk about Captain Hosa it would take us many years. He impacted my life and you must have heard different people talk about his good deeds inside the hall earlier. I am not exempted. I am very grateful to him. My prayer for his family is that they should stay united no matter what. There is always love in unity.”
