Edo State House of Assembly Speaker gives his 74 days scorecard

Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Marcus Iziegbeaya Onobun, has given his scorecard since the period of his emergence as the number 3 citizen of the state from October 10th, 2020.

In a statement made available to the media, the Speaker said: “During the period under review various committees were reconstituted while Principal Officers were appointed.

“Similarly, during this period, various bills and resolutions were passed while others are in different stages of consideration.

“In all a total number of sixteen resolutions and four bills were passed among which is the 2021 Appropriation Bill while two bills are in different stages of consideration.

“It suffices to say that the period under review has been actually busy with members busy with their oversight functions coupled with the very vibrant plenary sessions.”

Going forward, he thanked his colleagues for the support they are giving him and also thanked “the people of Edo State for giving us the opportunity to serve them in the capacity as members of the legislature to represent them.”

In conclusion, he also thanked Governor Godwin Obaseki “for giving us the needed support in the discharge of the onerous task of law making for the good governance of the state.”
