The Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally notified the National Working Committee (NWC) of its relocation to the New State Secretariat Complex at No. 175 Airport Road, Benin City, following the loss of its former facility.

The State Working Committee (SWC), through the Office of the State Secretary, Chief Hillary Otsu, officially communicated this development to the NWC, emphasizing the new complex as a symbol of the party’s revival.

The PDP had previously operated from a facility controversially acquired during the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki, who facilitated its handover to the party under the leadership of then-Chairman, Mr. Anthony Aziegbemi.

However, on January 17, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) reclaimed the property, forcing the PDP to operate without a secretariat and from a temporary Boys Quarter somewhere in GRA Benin City.

The party’s current challenges were alleviated through the intervention of Chief Dan Osi Orbih, National Vice Chairman (South-South), who generously donated the new Airport Road complex to the Edo State Chapter. This noble gesture has provided the PDP with a permanent and dignified administrative home.

The Edo PDP reaffirms its commitment to rebuilding party unity and electoral dominance. This new secretariat represents a fresh beginning and a strategic base to reclaim the party’s winning momentum in the state.
