Edo House of Assembly commission holds successful inaugural meeting with new directors

The Edo State House of Assembly Service Commission (EDHASC) today held a successful inaugural meeting with six newly appointed Directors at the Commission’s Conference Room, Benin City.

The meeting, presided over by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. (Sir) Ezehi MD Igbas, formally congratulated the newly appointed Directors into the Service and outlined the Commission’s vision for a more efficient, professional, and responsive Legislative Service in Edo State.

In his welcome address, the Chairman charged the new Directors to uphold professionalism, loyalty to the system, and exemplary leadership in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized that their appointments were based on competence and character, and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering results and maintaining the highest standards of integrity.

The Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Nehi-Olotu Paula Isoken, briefed the Directors on the mandate, structure, and code of conduct of the Commission, and subsequently received their posting letters and detailed schedules of duties.

The new Directors and their departments are:

  1. Agnes Asemota – Director, Information & Orientation
  2. Aguinede Anne Ego (Mrs.) – Director, Administration
  3. Imasekha O. Sunday – Director, Appellate & Monitoring
  4. Ovbiagele Ariri Mercy (Mrs.) – Director, Protocol & Travels
  5. Musa Lateef – Director, Procurement & Facility Management
  6. Atokoh Christopher – Director, Finance & Accounts

The Commission expressed confidence that the wealth of experience brought by the new Directors will strengthen service delivery, deepen institutional capacity, and support the Edo State House of Assembly in fulfilling its constitutional mandate with a view to actualizing the Project SHINE Agenda of Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State.

The Chairman reiterated EDHASC’s commitment to staff welfare, training, and the provision of a conducive work environment to enable the Directors to succeed.

The meeting ended with a group photograph and a renewed pledge by all Directors to serve with dedication and accountability.
