The Edo State Football Association (Edo FA) has commended Super Eagles star, Bright Osayi-Samuel and his family for their continuous contributions, dedication, and unwavering support towards the development of grassroots football in the state.
Chairman of the Edo FA, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, in a statement said: “Over the years, the Bright Osayi Under-13 Football Tournament has grown into one of the most significant grassroots competitions in the state.
“The tournament has become a major platform for discovering, nurturing, and showcasing young talents, while also providing an opportunity for youth coaches and teams to develop the next generation of footballers.
“Today, the competition stands as the biggest grassroots football tournament in Edo State and a true pinnacle for scouting emerging talent. Many young players have benefited immensely from the exposure and competitive environment the tournament continues to provide.”
Going further, Erhunmwunse noted that “youth football coaches across Edo State remain proud and passionate about having participated in previous editions of the tournament.
“Their enthusiasm and commitment reflect the impact the competition has had on grassroots football within the state. As anticipation builds, teams are already lining up in preparation for the forthcoming 3rd Edition of the Bright Osayi Under-13 Football Tournament, eager to be part of yet another memorable chapter.”
The Edo State FA boss also extended special appreciation to the family of the sponsor, particularly his parents, “whose support and encouragement have played an important role in sustaining this initiative.
“Their collective commitment to empowering young footballers and investing in the future of the game in Edo State is both inspiring and commendable.”
Erhunmwunse stressed that the FA “looks forward to welcoming Bright Osayi-Samuel, the Super Eagles international, at the finals of this year’s Under-13 tournament” adding “his presence has always been a source of motivation and excitement for the young players, just as witnessed during the previous edition.”
According to the Edo FA boss, “the children and participating teams will undoubtedly be thrilled to see him once again, drawing inspiration from his journey and achievements in football.
“The Edo State Football Association remains grateful to Bright Osayi-Samuel and his family for their remarkable commitment to grassroots football and youth development.
“Initiatives like this continue to strengthen the foundation of football in Edo State and inspire the next generation of stars.”
