The Comrade Paul Omo Okojie Campaign Organisation, has condemned in totality the false claim made by Engr. Christen Omofoma on Arise TV recently that he is the flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP) for the August 16 senatorial bye-election in Edo Central.

In a Press Statement the campaign organisation said: “We condemn in strong terms the false and illegal claim made by Engr. Christen Oseremen Omofoma on Arise TV, where he declared himself as the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate for Edo Central.

“This is a brazen act of lawlessness and deliberate misinformation. The only recognized and duly nominated candidate of the Labour Party for the Edo Central senatorial bye-election is Hon. Paul Omo Okojie as affirmed by the party’s primaries and submitted to INEC.”

Going further, the campaign organisation urged Arise TV “and other credible media platforms to avoid giving airtime to impostors attempting to mislead the people of Edo Central. The law is clear, and so is the truth.”

The campaign organisation called for the defence of our democracy from political desperados.
