The Edo State Labour Party(LP) has announced Hon. Paul Omo Okojie as it’s Senatorial Candidate.
This was revealed in a press statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Airen Igbenedion, in Benin City shortly after a highly peaceful and transparent primary election ahead of the Edo Central Senatorial bye-election.
The primary election, which was held in the LP Secretariat in Uromi, Esan South Local Government Area, had delegates voting massively for Hon. Paul Omo Okojie.
In a similar development, Comrade Franklin Agbonohenhen Uyi also emerged the party’s flag-bearer for Ovia Federal Constituency.
“On behalf of the Labour Party in Edo State, I heartily congratulate our flag-bearers on their emergence. Their victory reflects the confidence our members and delegates have in their leadership capacity, integrity, and vision for a better Edo State.
“The LP remains committed to the principles of justice, equity, and people-centered governance. As we move into the next phase of our electoral campaign, we call on all party faithful, supporters, and the general public to rally behind our candidates as we work towards victory at the polls.
“We also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), our security agencies, observers, and party officials who ensured that today’s exercise was peaceful, credible, and reflective of the will of our members,” the party stated.
