The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Edo State Chapter has felicitated with the people of the State as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state, describing it as a milestone.

In a statement signed by the State chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan, she said: “the past 30 years have been years of learning and peace building amongst the various ethnic groups across the three senatorial districts of the state.”

The association lauded the recognition presently given to women in the affairs of the State since it’s creation and appealed to the present administration led by Governor Godwin Obaseki to consider women in appointment to give them the opportunity to contribute their quota in building the state.

The Association congratulated women in particular and Edolites in general on the 30th anniversary and urged them to remain committed to the actualization of the stronger vision to move the state forward.

The statement further noted that the state government should also use the opportunity to strengthen the ties of unity and oneness among the diverse ethnic groups in the state to achieve development in line with the administration’s vision and mission.
