A discussion that has for months continued to ricochet in any gathering of the people of Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State is the emergence of Okhiku Esezobor Heman, as a frontrunner in the race to occupy the Council headquarters office in Sabongidda Ora by July 2026.
If the discussion is not centred on his humble background being from Okpuje in Owan West LGA, born and bred in Sabongidda – Ora with maternal affiliation to Afuze, Owan East Local Government Area, then it’s on his happily married life to a God fearing woman from Oke new Ora, Owan West.
As per his educational achievements people recall first he has a first degree in Agriculture (Crop Science) from the prestigious University of Benin, Benin – City and holds an MSc. in Environmental Crop Science with Doctorate in view.
A socio-political group, Concerned Owan West Citizens, which is leading the call for his choice as the right person to be Chairman of Owan West Local Government Council in less than ten months time, base their demand on incontrovertible facts which include his experiences in agriculture, banking, oil and gas, research works, entrepreneurial skill development and training among several others.
A core party man he has been assigned many tasking jobs within his party, the All Progressihas) Congress(APC), which he has delivered successfully. Making what hitherto looks like herculean task turn out to look like a child’s play.
To cap it all Heman, who was the Owan West Local Government Area Coordinator of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima’s Campaign team on the platform of ICC, came out in flying colours as the duo won the poll convincingly.
What’s more, the major stakeholders of the ruling APC are placing their trust in Heman that he is the best choice among the lot to steer the ship of Owan West Local Government Council starting from July 16th, 2026.
