Edo 2024: The cap fits me – Imasuen

Lucky Imasuen, the frontrunner in the Edo State 2024 gubernatorial race, continues to win support across the state as he engaged in meeting the stakeholders of his party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), in the different local government areas.

On his tour of Edo Central Senatorial District on Friday comprising Esan West, Esan Central, Esan North East, Igueben and Esan South East Local Government Areas, he got the endorsement of the APC leadership and members at every stop.

For instance, in Igueben he received a hero’s welcome as the generality of the APC members and leaders made references to his past act of good deeds.

In his own submission the party chairman in the local government area, Chief Sunday Okhuelegbe, who is the Ojiamen of Igueben, disclosed that he has known Imasuen for a long time describing him as a credible person who keeps to his words.

Adding his voice to the narrative, the leader of the APC in the local government, Kenneth Ihensekhien recalled how Imasuen stood for him in the course of the nomination of cabinet members when he was the state deputy governor.

The warm reception that was accorded Imasuen was fueled majorly because of his fluency in the Esan language; his antecedent as a Promise Keeper and his honesty.

Imasuen’s message revolved around his plans to end insecurity in the state by reviving the Edo Arms Response System(EARS), a security establishment which he initiated some years ago; his plans to launch a comprehensive skill acquisition programme; commencement of agricultural programme and also empowerment of the people through award of contracts to capable individuals in the communities where the project is to be sited.

He assured that of all of the aspirants jostling to succeed the incumbent, Governor Godwin Obaseki, he is the only one that can muster the support of some 650 community youth leaders known as Okhaigeles and their large number of supporters in the south senatorial district and the entire enigies(traditional heads of communities) in the district which will translate to securing their block votes on the day of the election.
