Edo 2024: Support my aspiration, I will surpass Alli, Ogbemudia and Oshiomhole, says Imasuen

Lucky Imasuen, the leading contestant  for the 2024 gubernatorial position  of Edo State in September on the banner of the All Progressives Congress(APC), has charged the party members to ensure that he gets their votes in the party’s primaries coming up in February and the main election slated for September.

While on a campaign tour to the party members in Sabongida Ora(the administrative headquarters of Owan West Local Government); Afuze(Owan East Local Government) and Igarra(Akoko Edo Local Government) he affirmed that the APC has on parade an array of capable contestants who are eminently qualified for the governorship seat but he asserted that he stands out as the best amongst the lot.

He promised that his coming to govern the state is built on his desire to improve on the achievements of past governors of the state like late Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, late General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia and Senator Eric Aliyu Oshiomhole who all made memorable impacts on the lives of the people while governing the state.

“I am not coming to amass wealth rather I have a divine call to come and change the narratives. To bring good governance to the people. To ensure that the dividends of democracy is made available to all.”

Going down memory lane, Imasuen, who was for eighteen months period between 2007 and 2008, deputy governor of the state said he intends to consolidate on his past success in checkmating criminality in the state via is Edo Arms Response System(EARS) which he intends to expand to the other districts of the state apart from Benin City(South) namely Auchi(North), Ekpoma(Central).

He promised the people that his administrative system would be people centric as he will ensure that all he does for them including political appointments has their full support.

Imasuen assured them that the era whereby a few influential people hijack benefit dividends of democracy to the chagrin of the majority will be brought to an end with his assumption of office as governor of the state.

“The idea of sidelining party loyalists at the grassroots in favour of the burgoise from the metropolis would come to an end with my assumption of office as governor. All and sundry would be given the opportunity to make their contributions to governance.

In a related development, Imasuen has adviced the family of Mohammed Amuda(aka Shaggy) which experienced a loss resulting from a ghastly autocrash to take heart as they mourn their loss.

He spoke when he paid a surprise visit to the bereaved family of Mohammed Amuda, who is the youth leader of the APC in Etsako West Local Government Area.

In appreciation of his kind gesture, the bereaved family prayed for his success in his endeavour considering that he was the only notable personality that showed them empathy.
