Everywhere he and his team stepped in his campaign in Oredo, Egor and Ovia South West Local Government Areas, Lucky Imasuen, who is on the verge of succeeding Governor Godwin Obaseki on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the Edo State Governorship poll in September, gets resounding acceptance.

In Oredo Local Government, Imasuen promised the APC faithfuls that his emergence as governor will be a tonic to ending the multifarious setback the people of the area and indeed the state have suffered in eight years despite the role they played in ensuring that he becomes the governor of the state.

He assured them that he has the wherewithal to bring in imternational donor agencies to equip hospitals in the state with state of the art equipment at no extra cost. He also harped on ensuring that the state is secured from crimes like kidnapping and terrorism so that the people can live and flourish in peace.

In their response to him, the leaders and elders of the party in the council area promised to cast their votes for him massively in the governorship primaries slated for Saturday, February 17th and subsequently in the governorship election slated for Saturday, September 21st.

In Egor Local Government, after hearing Imasuen’s message of hope, the APC faithfuls asserted that they have no doubt about his capabilities to lead the state to the land of plenty and as such he has their endorsement to govern the state.

In his last port of call, Ovia South West Local Government Area, Imasuen pleaded with the party men and women thus: “I want you to bring me to Government House so that we can jointly return Edo State to its past glory.”

He lamented that the forest reserves in the locality, which is rated as the largest in West Africa, is being destroyed by the activities of undesirable elements. He assured that he will address the issue when he assumes office as governor as he has all the needed connections/contacts to do so.

“Campaign for me you will be campaigning for yourself. Let us develop Ovia. I am going to be the next governor of this state. Take it from today because God has said so. You will see it. It will be like magic. I have said so today and I want all those who care to listen. You must hear my voice loud and clear.

“What God has said no man can stop it. I have told people there might be some obstacles on the way. Who said the road was going to be smooth? Then you are not ready. God has given me the key to the nomination. But there are obstacles that I must navigate and I am ready, willing and able to navigate through them.”

Chairman of the APC in Ovia South West, Emmanuel Ogbomo, stressed from all indices Imasuen has paid his dues in Edo State politics and as such he is endorsing him.

In his own submission, Uyi Obayagbona, a former Commissioner for Works in the state, said that Imasuen’s message resonates with the people which means he knows where it pains and can solve the problems.

Madam Aiviahenyo Victoria, the Woman Leader of the APC in Ovia South West, in tears and quoting copiously from the Bible, said that of all those aspiring to succeed Governor Obaseki, Imasuen stand the tallest having impacted on lives in his days in the state Government House as the Chief of Staff and later Deputy Governor.
