Stephen Osemwegie, a real estate guru, has thrown his hat into the ring in his quest to be the Governor of Edo State in 2024 under the banner of the Labour Party(LP).
On Thursday afternoon Osemwegie and his supporters had embarked on a carnival like show transversing Igun Street, reknown for been the headquarters of Benin bronze casters guild, up to Sakponba Road finally berthing at the Labour Party’s Secretariat located at Ogbelaka Street to declare his intention.
On ground to receive the aspirant and his motley of supporters were officials of the LP led by the Chairman of the party in the state, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi.
In his remarks Osemwegie stated that his choice of LP as the platform under whose banner he will govern Edo State is a product of his realization that it is the only party which can address the needs of the people.
Comrade Ogbaloi advised him to work hard with the assurance that the party officials have no favourite among the governorship aspirants and would accord everyone of them a level playing field.
